Wealth Address Takes Creative Real Estate Investing to Reality Internet
The recent launch of the hit Internet site Wealth Address — www.WealthAddress.Com has taken creative real estate investing to the next level by bringing real-time reality to the hype and promise to potential investors. Wealth Address, a site created by two real estate entrepreneurs Mitch Stephen ( San Antonio, TX) and Joe Ponce (Fort Walton Beach, FL) seeks to bring reality into the "late night informercial" world of investing.
Armed with more than 25 years of combined real estate investing, these two have chosen Wealth Address to show how the average "joe" can become successful in this exciting world.
"Most would-be investors fail before they ever get started", said Mitch Stephen a successful San Antonio real estate investor. "They need someone to help cut down the learning curve and help them see the path to success." Mitch, Joe and several other investors began the San Antonio Real Estate Investors Association (SARIA) about eight years ago. The association recently named their new building the "Mitch Stephen Real Estate Investment Center" in honor of his contributions to real estate investors in the community.
"It is really an honor", said Mitch a former traveling worker who gave up a middle class job setting up sales equipment for retail chains in 1996."I have worked hard in this field to make a living and realize that many experienced people helped me along the way". With more than 1,400 real estate investment transactions under his belt, Mitch is undoubtedly qualified to talk about his work and passion.
A frequent speaker at the SAREA meetings, Mitch has never published a book or course or sought to capitalize on his knowledge. Unlike many "gurus" in the field, Mitch is a down-to-earth guy who frequently gives advice to newcomers to the creative real estate investment world.
His partner in the Wealth Address endeavor is Joe Ponce an active-duty Army officer working in the field of Information Technology. Joe has invested slowly and deliberately over the past 15 years amassing hundreds of properties in the Florida panhandle area."I love this concept" said Joe."Like many folks, I have spent a bunch of money on courses and books over the years. I am really pleased with the way Wealth Address turned out after working on the project for almost four years".
The pair launched the website in early 2007 with a challenge to all real estate investing gurus."Come online with us and help make an average guy a millionaire". Many real estate investment gurus were intrigued by the idea. Mitch said it best, "Most people are tired of the hype and promise delivered by these folks peddling information in this field. If your ideas, books, and courses work, than come online with us and help this guy succeed!"
They selected a promising individual with a strong desire to succeed. They then began what was to become a "reality-based Internet investment site".
"I found a typical guy after interviewing several people who could help manage the Wealth Address site" said Mitch."I had almost zero time with the amount of investing I was doing. The guy we hired had no real estate investment experience but he was a hard worker looking for something better in life".
Joe suggested to Mitch one day that they try to turn this guy into a millionaire and track his progress on the site in real time for the world to see. With Mitch’s tremendous success in the San Antonio market and Joe’s success in the Florida market they believed they could do it."I had no idea if we could really do it and prove to people it could be done, Joe said. Mitch asked me how we would do it and together we hashed out a plan."
"We decided we would coach our new hire along while he worked for us," said Joe."Since I had a technology background and Mitch was a master at helping others, we decided to give this a try. If we could bring both of our own skills together to make it work for one person, than maybe we could do a few more."
The pair approached their new employee and he excitedly agreed to the concept. Mitch and Joe warned that it would not be easy and that he would have to document his journey to success with daily updates to the website. This would include video, voice, and a daily blog or journal. He would essentially live in a fishbowl showing both his success and failures to the world as he began his journey on the road to creative real estate success. Since he was already managing the website the two figured he could chart and explain to the world his course to success."We had and still have no idea how long it would take or even if this really could happen," said Mitch.
The pair agreed that most people who started out investing in Real Estate had a full time job. The new employee’s job was to maintain the Wealth Address website which involved editing, categorizing and posting over 8,000 articles, coordinating tele-classes and tele-seminars, adding video, voice, RSS feeds, Podcasts, and other new technologies to the website. Building the store of products for sale, adding numerous free downloads, answering customer questions and more.
He would also receive the valuable advice of other well-known real estate gurus with products for sale when he hosted a tele-seminar with them. He would be allowed to ask some of his own questions and relay those questions from others who were following along at home.
"Since we had Joe’s expertise on the technical side and our common passion for real estate investing, we thought it would be interesting to let the world follow this guy’s journey online" said Mitch.
To do that, the new hire would have to agree to document what worked for him and how he implemented the ideas. He would have to provide near real-time information via the website as he began his journey to becoming a real estate millionaire. People could sit on the sidelines or join him on the journey.
As Mitch stated, "All of us really had nothing to lose and everything to gain by implementing the idea, to include those that tuned in online to watch, learn, and follow. Other gurus had written books and courses on how to become a success but we decided to do it online and for free. We were taking a chance. First that we could really teach a person how to do it and second that we selected a guy who would do what he needed to. We've found a winner in Wes O'Neill, a dedicated, hard-worker looking to learn from the best."
"I have tons of books and courses on real estate investing," said Joe."I have never seen someone actually become a millionaire in real time. With the speed and ability of the Internet to deliver this information almost anything is possible. I think we all wish we could have a guiding hand when making a tough decision or the voice of experience to bounce ideas off of."
"That is exactly what we hope to do with this site and we invite the real estate investing world to assist," said Joe. Finding the right niche you are comfortable with can be a daunting challenge. We both hope this site can offer a dose of reality to this exciting field and help prevent some of the mistakes we made. Heck, it should be downright interesting to watch, none of us know how this will turn out but we all hope to be a bit smarter and help make a few more millionaires!
